How Do You Write Engaging Headlines

Headlines are important. They give the first impression and get people to read your content. No matter how good your content is, if it lacks an engaging headline it’ll be hard to get people to take notice. So today’s video is from my friend Matt Lloyd on  how to write engaging headlines. He will walk you through how to craft great engaging headlines for your content.

Not a professional writer? Me neither. The great thing is that we don’t have to be one to craft  engaging headlines. Here’s my 3 step process to creating  awesome engaging headlines.

1. Find a list of the best headlines used in marketing.
This part is simple. We use our good friend google to compile a list of the greatest headline used in marketing. These have already been proven to work  and get people engaging with your content.  I recommend you print these off. They will come in handy when you’re writing content.

2. Break down what makes them great.

This step is self-explanatory. We take a headline and find out the reason why it works well. Remember,  the purpose of a headline is to get the visitor to take action and read our post.

3. Make one of these proven headlines match your content.

No need to write one from scratch. Much like you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You just take something that is already proven to work. So take one of these proven headlines, and re-write it to match your content.

Another tip is to create your content first then write your headline. It’s easy to get stuck when you don’t have the content. So write that first and then crafting the headline becomes much easier.

That’s it. It’s that simple.
